There’s never a time to stop learning, and having felt hugely inspired by award-winning Chicago photojournalist Candice Cusic on meeting her at the European Fearless Conference in March 2016, I signed up for her workshop in association with the Nine Dots conference last November. My day started stressfully, with missing two buses to the studio thanks to my Oyster card ‘hiding’ from me in my bag, and I hurried into the room just as things were starting. Thankfully seeing some photographer friends and Candice’s immediate warmth in her introduction settled me in! (Oh and coffee.)
WEDx – seminars for the wedding industry
We’re happy (and a teensy bit nervous) to announce that Lina is confirmed as a speaker at the inaugural WEDx – seminars for the wedding industry, or in their words “a brand spanking new series of seminars for people who are serious about taking their business to the next level.”
Taking place at Wyboston Lakes on Monday 8th May 2017 from 9am, the day will feature six speakers working within the Wedding Industry. Each speaker will hold a Q&A Session following their talk to ensure that your burning questions get answered, as well as the invaluable opportunity of networking with a community of likeminded people. The speakers kicking off this first event alongside Lina are:

Happy New Year to all our clients, past present and future, as well as all you lovely supporters and friends. 2016 was an incredible year for us and as we get excited about 2017 here’s a look at some of our best wedding photography from last year – we’re so lucky to be part of these amazing days – enjoy! <3
We recommend you go big and go HD! And do share!
We love the sea, and we love Southwold, so we were happy to return with Rebecca and Bobby on a glorious afternoon in August. It never feels right to us to just feature the sea as a background, so we will always encourage our clients to get a little wet when we head to the beach on a pre wedding shoot!
Thankfully, despite it not being too warm, Rebecca and Bobby went for it – as did Tom! – making for a particularly fun sequence of laughter and sea spray!
Awesome news here – we have been awarded Best Wedding Photographer at the 2016 Four Counties Wedding Awards. Woop!
The Awards, which began in 2015, were started to “recognise and reward the hard work and dedication, the long hours and patience” of local wedding suppliers. “Those who go above and beyond to make every wedding day so very special. A real recognition of excellence in the wedding service sector.”
After a round of voting by wedding couples; a panel of industry judges, in our category lead by photographer Ian Bursill, decided that we were the best wedding photographers which were revealed at a Gala reception at Knebworth House and Barns on November 30th.
There are a various awards around now, but we thought it would be nice to enter these awards this year as they truly show couples in the region who are the suppliers in their area of quality. We were so happy that our names were read out as winners as we know there is a wealth of photography talent in the region – it’s so lovely to have this recognition and thank you so much to our lovely couples and the judges for their kind words, it really means a lot as we work extremely hard for our clients!
We were certainly on lucky table 9 as our friends and colleagues Lee Allison (Highly Commended Wedding Photographer), Tim Spatz (Best Videographer) and Kerry Curl – Cambridge Make Up Artist (Best Wedding Make-Up) were all also successful! The Gala evening also made a significant amount of money for the brilliant Charity The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation, an amazing cause.
Shooting for Matt at Hayley this month is going to be a real privilege not to mention a lot of fun. Hayley and I (Lina) have history, a fair few years back we worked together, right when we were on the cusp of our respective personal businesses kicking off full time, Hayley being co-owner of the highly regarded and award-winning beauty salon, English Rose Beauty House. So we’re so happy to be part of what we know is going to be a fab day, and we took an opportunity to catch up with Matt and Hayley as they walked their gorgeously characterful Dachshund Stanley. As is common when we have a cute doggy on a shoot, we make no apologies for how many shots of him there are!
There is a certain quaint quality to a tipi on a green, and on Polly and Adam’s relaxed and happy wedding day the tipi looked fantastic in the sunshine on the grass by Horningsea Pavillion in Cambridgeshire. We loved the details at this wedding which complimented the tipi – and wish we had thought of the fantastic teatowel wedding invite! Our favourite caterers Puddini provided a deliciously tasty meal of gourmet burgers and cheesecake which was perfect alongside a beer, and as the night cooled the fires were lit the marshmallows came out. Look no further for if you want inspiration for a English country fete tipi wedding and swoon at the romance of it all… Credits at the end…
We’ve shot some fun punting pre wedding shoots in the past, but Ruth and Danny’s had a twist, this time our very own Tom was the initial chauffeur. We tried something different, he punted so that we could give Ruth and Danny a go at ‘driving’, and what a hilarious decision that was! As well as the happy couple cuddling up in the punt, we saw them both try their hand at punting for the first time, with varying results, as we think the punt Danny hit would agree! No one ended up with damp feet though, so we were able to have a short stroll around Senate Passage, a beautiful part of the city, where they continued to make each other giggle, lovely stuff.
