In a jam-packed November we photographed three fabulous autumn weddings, went to a wedding photography conference and picked up an award for our work too. Not bad, huh?
First we started at one of our favourite venues, South Farm, for Anne and Stephen’s elegant and laid-back wedding on a picture perfect autumn day. They’d created such a gorgeous day – with soft peach florals, fairy lights dotted around the courtyard and copper and rose gold stationery. The rural Cambridgeshire wedding venue always provides plenty of gorgeous photography opportunities – we took cosy photos during the ceremony and reception plus dramatic and autumnal couples shots in the grounds. A truly beautiful day!

Every November we go to the Nine Dots conference and gathering, billed as the ‘ultimate wedding photography conference’ – rightly so! We spent four days immersed in all things wedding photography – finding new ideas, soaking up tons of inspiration and catching up with our friends and colleagues. A particular highlight was a workshop with Cooked Photography from Nova Scotia – they are incredible people and helped us take an in-depth look at how we work as a team. Afterwards we introduced them to the delights of a Brick Lane curry!
We caught the best of the autumn colour at Becki and Matt’s wedding later in the month, which took place at the Bassmead Manor Barns. These two are so much fun, and so was their wedding. There were plenty of smiles, some hilarious family groups and even some magic. Our dear friend and colleague, magician Lee Smith, went down an absolute storm with the guests and we loved photographing their reactions. You can see a great collection of our shots on Lee Smith’s Facebook page. And great to be working with Richard from White Dress Films, you can see this wedding here

In late November we got our first taste of that festive feeling at Laura and Jay’s wedding at the Parklands at Quendon Hall. We went from autumn weddings to feeling very Christmassy in a day. From the snowflakes decorating the wedding cake to the beautiful snowstorm-style confetti, they put everyone in the Christmas spirit. We loved Laura’s David Tutera dress – a pretty lace top and a full skirt with… pockets! Who doesn’t love that? During our couples shots Mother Nature gave us the most perfect light – we don’t need any Wise Men to bring us gold, just the sunset. The night ended with dinner by candlelight and Lovelight Entertainment tearing up the dancefloor.

At the end of the month it was time for the Four Counties Wedding Awards, and we won! We picked up an award for the second year running, this time winning the Creative Documentary category as part of the Wedding Photography award. What a great end to a great month.
We always look forward to autumn every year, the leaves and the light make for the most wonderful wedding photos – we were totally spoilt this month. Catching up with lots of fab wedding folk was really the pumpkin-spiced cherry on top!
