September’s one of our favourite months of the year, a mixture of summer and autumn with a good helping of incredible sunsets. Here’s a look back at a busy month of September photography, filled with city weddings, countryside dos and a sunset engagement wedding shoot – plus two cute doggies! Read on for some September wedding inspiration…
First up we enjoyed everything the English countryside has to offer during Fran and Ian’s wedding Milling Barn in Throcking, Hertfordshire. They had a beautiful outdoor woodland ceremony before a walk through the fields for drinks – it was so nice to see the guests walking through the countryside afterward! Fran looked stunning in a Mikkaella wedding dress and a Love From Becky flower crown. Post-dinner, guests enjoyed a cocktail making session, an excellent way to round off the day’s events and get the party started. We took our fab newlyweds out for couples portraits in the last of the sunset, and they were both a little tipsy which made it all the more fun! Excellent work guys!

For our second wedding of the month we headed to the stylish Coltsfoot Country Retreat for Louise and Neil’s wedding. Guests were welcomed with light up letters from The Letter Hire People and vibrant flowers from Heavy Petal. The bridesmaids were dressed in black, we we absolutely love – so stylish! Our couple were real party lovers, so this was an end-of-the-night finish for us – all the better for capturing awesome moments!

After our countryside escapades we headed into London for Fi and Mik’s intimate wedding at Islington Town Hall. We love this cool venue, the architecture is incredible, and we were so honoured to be part of a wedding this small – just a handful of close family. On the way to the reception, at the Kensington Hotel, Tom jumped in the cab with the newlyweds for some fantastically intimate shots of them in the cab, before we enjoyed the quirky décor of The Kensington with our couple.

Ah, we love the weddings of childhood sweethearts! Harriet and Connor’s, wedding took place at Toft Church, followed by a reception at the historic Longstowe Hall in Cambridgeshire. Always lovely to work with Kerry aka Cambridge Make Up Artist who did a fab job as usual. There was plenty of sunshine, so the guests could enjoy drinks in manicured gardens. Inside, the reception took place in the Rose Ball Room, a grand space with incredible carved ceilings and beautiful paintings lining the walls. Instead of a complete change of outfit, the bride Harriet added some beautiful back jewellery to her beaded gown for the evening’s festivities. An utterly beautiful day full of family love and you can see their slideshow here.
What else do we love? People who want us to shoot their wedding even before they are engaged! Emma, the bride, chose us two years ago after seeing us at a wedding fair with her friend, and we were so happy when she booked us for her September wedding to Jason. Emma and Jason’s wedding took place at Hunsbury Hill Barns on a day filled with autumn colour and summer weather too – double the fun! Guests enjoyed afternoon tea, ice cream cones, cocktails and a BBQ. Emma and Jason know how to treat their guests well!

In between our wedding fun we managed to squeeze in a few extra special photoshoots. First up was Oliver’s first birthday shoot among the flowers at his local park. He’s such a cutie, and had a great time toddling around for the day.
We photographed Instagram celebrity Huxley the Cockapoo another sunny September day. We can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon than with this cuddly chap! Look out for our photos on his feed @huxley_the_cockapoo.
After Huxley we piled even more cute onto our camera roll with a photoshoot for 12-week old pug Ivy. She’s such a fun little pup, those big earnest eyes melted our hearts during the shoot, and whilst editing too.
We rounded off our September photography with Fran and Rich’s engagement shoot at Therfield Heath. We were glad we picked the afternoon for the shoot as we were treated to a stunning sunset, don’t they look cosy?
During the September madness we took some time out for a trip to Italy, to visit Lina’s Dad’s village, Cusano Mutri, which gave Tom a peek at Lina’s childhood memories. The village is in a valley, surrounded by mountains, and we naturally took plenty of incredible photos of our trip. Look out for a full blog soon.
Looking back on our September photography, it was a fantastically varied month which is just how we like it – there’s never a dull moment when you’re a photographer. Thank you to everyone (human and canine!) for letting us capture your special moments in September.
