First look: September weddings

A peek at the September weddings and shoots that have kept us busy, from a serene woodland wedding to a glamorous country retreat. Also, Lina escaped to Italy for some family time, and we captured a very special one year old’s birthday!

Fran and Ian: A rustic woodland ceremony, a cocktail masterclass and a day full of laughter.

We had such a good time at Fran and Ian’s wedding, they how to throw a party for sure! Their wedding at the picturesque Milling Barn in Throcking was a sunny affair, meaning the ceremony was deep in the barn’s woodland. After the ceremony, guests soaked up the sun with al fresco drinks before dinner. After dinner we were treated to a cocktail masterclass, which ended in espresso martinis for everyone! Now that’s our kind of party!

Louise and Neil: rain AND sun! A spirited wedding at a fabulous country retreat.

Louise and Neil had a glam wedding at Coltsfoot Country retreat featuring the couple’s own gin as favours – such a great idea! We had to dodge the rain for this wedding, but this definitely didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits, plus we love those rain-drenched shots. Thankfully, the sun did make an appearance for their couple’s portraits, so we were able to capture these beautiful late summer moments. We’d also like to thank the staff for being awesome – Lina was suffering from a horrible cold but they kept her topped with chamomile tea all day.

Harriet and Connor: childhood sweethearts say I do

We’ve always loved the atmosphere of a wedding between childhood sweethearts, you can just feel how special this marriage is and will be to all the family. Harriet and Connor’s ceremony was in a local church followed by a sunny reception at Longstowe Hall. We captured fantastic candid shots and portraits of our couple during drinks in the garden, once the sun had set we saw some amazing dancefloor action from the groom!

Fi and Mik –an intimate ceremony in Islington

We were privileged to be part of Fi and Mik’s wedding, a small ceremony for immediate family only. They tied the knot in the plush Mayor’s Parlour in Islington Town Hall before lunch at the stunning Kensington Hotel. Since it was such a small ceremony we were able to capture some fantastic moments between the dozen or so guests, and we found some really quirky parts of the hotel for couple portraits.

Emma and Jason: A delightful countryside barn wedding

We rounded off September with a visit to Northamptonshire wedding venue Hunsbury Hill Barns, for Emma and Jason’s wedding. These two lovebirds created such a fun day for everyone, with a delicious post-ceremony afternoon tea followed by an evening BBQ as the sun set. Special shout out to Ash, the events manager at Hunsbury Hill – one of the best in the business!

Beyond weddings

Between weddings we also took our cameras to capture baby Oliver’s first birthday. His Mum and Dad, Sarah and Nathan, wed in 2015 and we loved coming back to capture their new addition as part of our exclusive baby shoot offer for wedding clients.

Along with babies we also met some furry friends during two pet photoshoots! Laura and Lewis, who also married in 2015, asked us to shoot their furry baby, Huxley the cockapoo, celebrating his first birthday too. Such an adorable pup, we had so many cuddles. You can follow this handsome chap on Instagram!

We were also lucky enough to meet Ivy the pug – she absolutely melted our hearts. Just look at those eyes! We were tempted to take her home, although we expect the cats wouldn’t have been happy if we did…

Finally, we headed over to Italy with Lina’s dad for a visit to their home village Cusano Mutri, to catch up on family time and to show Tom as he’d never been. Here’s a peek, more on the blog soon from Lina seeing such as strong part of her childhood with adult eyes and a camera…
