As we watch the leaves of our bright red plum tree trickle down to the floor from our office window (how poetic, I know!) we’re reflecting on a pretty our awesome summer weddings. Of course, when you do a job like ours, we’re generally describing the year as awesome, but this summer seems to have really swept us off our feet. After a fantastic spring which saw us return to some of our favourite venues such as South Farm and the Granary Estates, we also shot/saw two of our closest friends get married under the beautiful Scottish sunshine. This year we introduced wedding slideshows, so we’ve mixed in some images and slideshows here.
June saw us return to The Old Bridge Hotel in Huntingdon, for the first time since our fourth ever professional wedding, back in the Spring of 2010! Liz is an old school friend of Lina’s, so we were delighted to be asked to share her and Joe’s special day. This hotel is perfect for a smaller wedding, the food and staff are fab too.

After years of eluding us, we finally got to shoot at the award-winning Bassmead Manor Barns with Emma and Chris. After a church ceremony in St Ives, we headed to Bassmead on what was a glorious summer’s day. We couldn’t resist some shots in the beautiful Rickety Barn though. Bassmead have an outdoor pizza oven which was fab for evening food (and yum!) and we’re looking forward to returning twice over the next month.
Sam + Nick’s wedding saw us fly out to the beautiful island of Ibiza for the first time and boy did we fall hard in love with this island. Sam is also known as Miss2Mrs Make-up, as well as having a long list of celebrity and commercial make-up credits, and we were blown away when she chose us for this adventure. As our destination wedding photography includes both pre and post wedding events, we enjoyed the fantastic Café del Mar sunset with their friends and family – an amazing pre wedding get together! The wedding itself was at the stunning Elixir, overlooking the mystical island of Es Vedra. We topped off an amazing few days with a stunning post wedding shoot around Ibiza Old Town. We can’t wait to return to the island to provide more Ibiza wedding photography.
After the high of Ibiza we were on the move again, this time to a beauty of Britain, the stunning Lake District. Molly is a family and newborn photographer, and has a very established wedding photographer aunt, so again we were so honoured to be chosen to cover her and Phil’s special day! The views at the Daffodil Hotel are breathtaking and we were truly inspired by the landscape. Can’t wait to return!

Janette and Vals wanted their celebration their way – and a short registry office wedding two days before the wedding allowed them to have a perfectly personalised wedding day at Taylor’s Farm Retreat, embracing the farm theme and having a South African braai for dinner, before partying away complete with unusual special guest in the evening!
Lauren + Cameron took us back to South Farm for a beautifully relaxed celebration with their families. Having moved to Australia for work soon into their relationship, memories of favourite places together adorned their tables and Lauren gave an emotive speech to Cameron thanking him for taking the leap and moving with her – so adorable! The brilliant Lee Smith Magician entertained guests and the day ended with a fantastically dramatic sky, after such a relaxed vibe throughout!

Formality was not the order of the day for Jennie + George – so we were all perfect for each other! After deciding to hold their reception at the adorable Chalton Village Hall in Bedfordshire, the potential of the gardens was realised and they had a celebrant-led wedding in the sunshine. This was probably one of the most emotional ceremonies we have ever shot! A village-fete style reception with some epic welling wanging ensured fun for all!

Verity and Marco’s wedding was our first at the Hunsbury Hill Centre and we had a blast. Marco is a DR Who superfan, and his jacket was cut from the same cloth as Matt Smith’s! Not to be outdone, Verity had a stunning bespoke two piece by Sharon Bowed-Dryden, with two skirts! Guests were entertained by a bouncy castle, spacehoppers and testing their circus skills! We ended the day creating a special portrait of them both as Doctor and Companion. Shout out to Ash at Hunsbury Hill who has to be one of the best event managers in the industry, a dream to work with.
It was back at South Farm for lovely Bridget and Luke’s wedding on one of the liveliest Wednesday’s we’ve ever had! The new Mr and Mrs Crabb celebrated their union with a day of laughter and fun, which included a bullseye hit at their photographer when throwing bean bags at their crab game. You’ll have to watch their slideshow to see! Their DJ was South Farm legend Gary of Titan Roadshow, who played some epic games with them that had us all in stitches, brilliant stuff!

No sooner had we backed up Bridget and Luke’s images we were on a flight to Cancun for Blanca and Elliot’s wedding in Mexico. Elliot is an old friend of Lina’s so it was an honour to be asked to shoot. Mexico did not disappoint, from pre wedding drinks on the beach in Playa del Carmen, to Tom shooting one of the best groom preps ever – in the pool! The wedding took place on the beach at the Sandos Playacar resort and then the party continued in front of the ocean. The Mexicans sure know how to party. One word. Tequila.
After a couple of days R&R we were back at South Farm for Sam and Keith with their best dog Alfie! It was a day of all seasons but no one minded – and we loved the relaxed speeches on the lawn. Another great example of not having to follow any rules and we love South Farm for letting their couples do their thing and not be restrictive. Loved their travel theme too!

Local girl Abbie married her American forces love Kenny at South Farm and boy did this Anglo-American wedding know how to party! We loved the vibrant colour scheme and later we were joined by our DJ favourites Lovelight Entertainment too who kept the place jumping all night long – the most excellent of Mondays!
