We’re sat here writing this as it feels like Autumn is creeping in, and we can’t quite believe how warm it was this summer. It’s been delightful to look back at high summer fun with our couples, we had canine ring bearers, a terrific tipi wedding as well as an uber cool yellow Ford Capri wedding car, plus much more during our July weddings…
Carolyn and Dave, Childerley Hall, Cambridgeshire
Our first wedding was at the peak of the heat wave, at Childerley Hall in Cambridgeshire. We know Carolyn through her work as a florist; it’s always a joy to photograph a fellow wedding professional’s day!
Most guests worry about rain on their wedding day, but it was the opposite for Carolyn and Dave. They had the combination of a heat wave and an England World Cup game to contend with. Both could have been a big distraction. However, the guests were on their very best behaviour, and everyone had a lovely, if very warm, day. Carolyn wore an intricate gown from Fleur de Lys Bridal in Saffron Walden with make up from Izzy Foster-Wild, obviously accompanied by her gorgeous flowers.
At the venue they had delicious doughnut wall, a tribute to Dave’s childhood nickname ‘donut’ as well as a sweet buffet cart and light up letters from The Letter Hire People – combined with all the beautiful flowers created with Madaleine Bradley and it was a feast for the eyes.
Our absolute favourite of the day was Carolyn and Dave’s daughter, Poppy. The star of the show! She bought so much fun and cheekiness to the day and did her Mum and Dad so proud. We had a fabulous day at Carolyn and Dave’s Childerley wedding – a perfect summer wedding!

Rebecca and Liam, South Farm, Cambridgeshire
Our couple booked us two whole years ago (we do always say to book in advance so you don’t miss out) so we were really anticipating this wedding by the time the day came around. The heat wave continued for Rebecca and Liam’s day so the guests took full advantage of the gorgeous surroundings at South Farm. It’s so nice to see the guests milling about the gardens on sunny days like this was.
Rebecca and Liam’s day was all about nature – they chose bright, colourful wildflowers and sunflowers across the day – from the venue to the buttonholes and the bouquet. Nature was the key focus of the day, with the added bonus of being able to have the ceremony outside.
Rebecca chose a stunning Stella York dress from The Tailor’s Cat, alongside a wildflower bouquet. Bridesmaids dressed in flowing, mint-coloured dresses and the groom in a grey suit with a mint-coloured tie.
For the reception we were joined by the awesome Lee Smith Magician, he always gets the party started and the guests absolutely loved him as always!
After dinner Rebecca and Liam carried on the sunflower theme with a spin in Becky’s dad’s vintage yellow Capri – we had so much fun photographing it. Not to miss out on any fun, they had a jaunt in South Farm’s tuktuk afterwards too. The combination of the tuktuk and the beautiful sunset made for some wonderful photos.

Jen and Tom, Chippenham Park, Suffolk
Let’s just tell you the best bit first – a dog as a ring bearer! Not going to lie, we were so impatient for Jen and Tom’s wedding so we could see Jonno the rescue whippet be part of the day. Of course the beautiful venue and our wonderful couple were also a highlight!
Jen looked incredibly glamorous in a Mori Lee ball gown from local favourite The Tailor’s Cat – it perfectly complimented her awesome lavender hair! We love it when a bride goes for an alternative look. The rest of the day was suitably elegant too, with gorgeous florals from Bridget at Larkspur Floral Design. Jonno even had his very own bowtie!
When it came to the ceremony, our guest of honour – usually a bit of a livewire – didn’t put a paw out of place for his big moment. Later, Jen and Tom enjoyed a walk around the grounds with Jonno and showered him with lots of deserved praised. After all the excitement, Jonno was taken off for a well-earned snooze by the team from Walkies at Weddings.
We loved how Jen and Tom brought the most important aspects of their lives to their wedding day. It was such a beautiful day.

Laura and Sam, South Farm, Cambridgeshire
Another picture perfect day at South Farm with Laura’s German family coming over for her wedding to Sam in Cambridgeshire. We love an international do, everyone has such a good time catching up as well as meeting each other for the first time.
There were lots and lots of fun touches on the day like clay pigeon shooting (check out Laura taking aim in the video!) and jam jar favours filled with tequila and vodka.
There were also some really touching moments throughout the day. Sadly, Laura’s grandfather had passed away just a few months earlier – her sister surprised her with a gift to remember her. A lovely fingerprint charm bracelet, such a nice gesture. During the speeches the whole family was involved, Sam’s idea, which was emotional, funny and embarrassing in equal measure!
A super fun day, not dampened by a few summer showers, down on the farm.

Catherine and Toby, Tipi wedding in Rutland
It was always going to be a unique wedding day for this travel-loving couple, who had just returned from a two-month road trip ready for their wedding day. We loved them from the minute we met them because their wanderlust is as big as our own.
This fun and laidback wedding started in the pub, a good start! The ceremony was in a local church – Catherine looked amazing in a glamorous full-skirted Yolan Cris gown that needed lots of bridesmaids to ensure she made it down the church path.
After a lovely ceremony it was time to head to the tipis! They were gorgeous, and packed with favours and decorations to echo their love of travel as well as an awesome gin bottle seating plan. Gotta use those empties for something…
The evening do was incredible, they had a brass band get the guests partying and delicious Steak and Honour burgers to keep people fuelled for dancing. The absolute icing on the cake was hearing that our newlyweds were expecting a baby too, announced during Toby’s speech. A joyous and emotional day with a fab couple.
