Last week we spent an an amazing five days in glorious southern Iceland celebrating Tom’s birthday. I’d surprised him with a trip staying at the fabulous Hotel Ranga, and filled the week with exciting private tours, so we would have a great week together, and not be too disappointed if the famous Northern Lights – the Aurora Borealis – didn’t show.
Well we were very excited when the hotel told us they were showing after dinner on Tuesday night, and got all our cold weather gear on to go out and enjoy the light show amongst a sky of glorious green and shooting stars, the cherry on top for my plans. But then Tom turned the tables on me and proposed!
So we’re very happy to announce that after almost seven years together, the last five working together as Cambridgeshire wedding photographers, we are now engaged! So it is time for us to plan our own wedding!
As you all know I love all things wedding and we are always delighted to be a help to our wedding photography clients in any part of their planning, so it will be interesting doing it for ourselves. People assume we have it all figured out already; on the contrary, we’ve seen so many fabulous weddings our heads are like Pinterest! We’re currently working out what we want and we have organised some initial venue viewings. Already looking at some websites I have seen the potential frustrations to a bride-to-be so I will be blogging my planning journey which will hopefully help other couples, but for now we’re going to be enjoying the memory of our northern lights proposal.
Wish us luck! :)
