A smashing summer start featuring a woodland wedding, two multi cultural weddings, and a chance for us to save the day! Read on for our June wedding photography round up…
Emma and Simon, Milling Barn, Hertfordshire
We started off our June weddings with a woodland do at Milling Barn for Emma and Simon. Our couple chose a boho theme with fun touches to make a gorgeously unique day. Emma had chosen a beautiful beaded dress from Anthropologie, which was so well suited to the relaxed, rustic setting. It was perfectly matched with a wildflower bouquet from Barbara’s Flowers in Royston. Groom Simon decided to ditch the jacket and opted for a simple Ted Baker waistcoat and shirt combo. We love his style!
This June wedding ceremony was deep in the forest, under a canopy of leaves followed by Pimms on the lawn. The weather was perfect so we hopped back into the woods with our newlyweds for some romantic sunset photos.
The rustic, relaxed theme carried on to the wedding breakfast, which was a roast dinner! Big sharing plates piled high with food was the best icebreaker among the guests, and very delicious! Evening entertainment included pizza and A LOT of dancing well into the night. We loved this charming woodland wedding!

Rhoda and Duane, South Farm, Cambridgeshire
We were able to save the day for Rhoda and Duane! Their original photographer had to pull out, and we were contacted about shooting the wedding pretty close to the day. We loved this wedding, full of emotion and joy – held on a beautiful day at South Farm.
Rhoda wore a fabulous dress by Martina Liana from The Tailor’s Cat, and had hair and make-up by the talented Sarah Henning. For the venue, Alice at Fleur de Lace created an incredible display of fairy lights. These looked perfect on each table alongside Rhoda and Duane’s pet-themed table plan – named by every pet they’ve owned, such a sweet idea!
We were so glad we were free for Rhoda and Duane’s emotional yet joyful June wedding day – we loved every minute.

Louise and Anil, Boreham House, Essex
What do they say about buses? Having never shot at Boreham House before, we found ourselves booked for two wonderful multicultural weddings there over one weekend. We worked out that we did 27 hours of shooting and there were over 500 guests between the two – wow!
First up, Louise and Anil’s Scottish-Asian wedding featuring outfit changes, dhol, bagpipes and two outfits and two sets of bridesmaids (one for the church service and another for the Hindu ceremony). The day started with Louise’s Scottish heritage, a church service with the groom and the groomsmen decked out in kilts, and Louise in a gorgeous Pronovias full-skirted gown.
Then it was time for afternoon tea back at Boreham House, before the Hindu ceremony. There was of course an outfit change, with Anil in the traditional sherwani and Louise in a beautiful red and gold lehenga choli. We loved seeing all the different phases of the ceremony, in particular Louise walking in with leaves over her eyes so the groom could be revealed to her.
After the Hindu ceremony guests (and us!) enjoyed a delicious meal from Sapna Caterers. Then it was time to part – Vik from HV Entertainment played an incredible mix of bhangra and western music to round off the night. We left absolutely buzzing from a jam-packed day, and glad to be only heading across the road to the hotel…

Jem and Mayurun, Boreham House, Essex
Bright-eyed and bushy tailed, we were back at Boreham House the next day for Jem and Mayurun’s day. Another beautiful fusion of cultures, but in an entirely different way!
Our couple wanted a really relaxed day, first starting with their 3.30pm outdoor ceremony on the lawn. The wedding had a high summer theme with light florals from Heidi Appleyard, simple décor and vivid colours worn by the bridesmaids. Jem looked amazing in a sleek lacework dress by Stella York at The Tailor’s Cat and we loved Mayurun’s tweed suit, with a very funky floral embroidered waistcoat only to be revealed later on the dancefloor!
Highlights from their super fun day included the wonderful Get Gospel choir, we particularly loved that they sang ‘No Diggity’ while the couple walked down the aisle as a brand new Mr and Mrs. The wedding breakfast featured amazing Sri Lankan and Malaysian foods from the couple’s cultures, we were blown away by Blackstone Caterers – absolutely delicious! The cherry on top was the fab cake from Pretty Gorgeous Cake Company reflecting the couple’s loves – Harry Potter, Wodehouse and a cheeky KFC! Jem and Mayurun enjoyed a stunning display of fireworks at the front of the house with their guests before partying hard into the night, and it was big hugs all round when the lights came up!

June was amazing. Emma and Simon’s relaxed day was so chilled we almost felt like guests. We were absolutely delighted to be able to help Rhoda and Duane, and had fantastic day – we always do at South Farm. Finally, our double header at Boreham House featured two of the most unique, interesting multi cultural weddings we’ve had the pleasure of attending.
