6 reasons why wedding party photography is awesome

As an experienced wedding photography team we capture every part of your wedding. We’re here for your whole celebration, and if that means you want to party hard into the night – we’ll still be there! Why? Your day absolutely does not end with the first dance; it’s like missing the last chapter out of a book – where’s the fun in that? This is why you want to choose us for your wedding party photography.

We think you should choose a wedding photographer who’s there for the day and the night, to capture your party wedding photos, not packing up their gear after the first dance is done. Here’s why…

1. To capture that party spirit

The wedding party can be one of the best parts of the day, the nerves are gone, the drinks are flowing and everyone can really let their hair down. This is our chance to photograph your friends and family having the best time at your wedding. Plus, they’ll often forget the wedding photographer is there which makes the photos much more natural.

2. To include evening guests

Many couples invite extra guests to their wedding reception, but if the photographer’s already gone home you’ll miss seeing them in your wedding album. Having your wedding photographer there in the evening too means your entire day will be captured.

3. To feature fireworks

Sparklers and fireworks often make an appearance at weddings, and whilst a smartphone may not do them justice, they’re a dream to photograph on a professional camera. It’s not just the fireworks too; we love capturing the reactions of the guests. We’ll be there to immortalise every whizz and bang!

4. To remember when it got a bit messy

Some people tell us that they don’t want photos of drunken antics in their wedding party photography, but trust us – you will! They are hilarious to look back on and we promise to try and keep them flattering 🙂

5. To remember the last and first dance

We often don’t want to go. When the party’s still going strong we’ll stay to cover as much of your wedding as possible. There are some DJs, like our friends at Lovelight Entertainment, who make a feature of the last dance so often we’ll stay until the lights go up. It’s even better if the bride and groom are the last ones on the floor, like this gorgeous photo of Charlotte and Ian having a last little cuddle as their guests were leaving.

6. To create romantic night shots

See out your wedding day in style with a romantic and dramatic night portrait. It’s an opportunity to get creative and capture outdoor shots – perfect if the weather wasn’t kind earlier or if you have a winter wedding with limited natural daylight. We’ll also suggest night shots if there’s something particularly unique about your venue or theme. One of our couples, Verity and Marco, had a Doctor Who wedding and we created a special photoshoot to go with the theme. Super fan groom Marco and his new wife Verity absolutely loved this photo, and we were so pleased to create this shot for them.

The drama and the emotion of the ceremony giving way to the raucous evening party is an amazing thing to watch unfold at any wedding. Being there into the night means you’ll never forget any part of your day, it’s all part of our mission to create as many memories from your wedding – including wedding party photography!

So have we convinced you yet? We hope this post and the photos from our party-loving couples have given your inspiration for your evening shindig. We truly believe you shouldn’t settle for your photographer leaving after the first dance, opt for party wedding photography, or look what you could miss out on!
