A Sun-Drenched Three Day Wedding at Chateau Naudou, France

There is something truly magic about a destination wedding that spans an entire weekend. Last summer, we travelled to the South of France to capture a spectacular three day celebration near Toulouse. This venue is a hidden gem, offering a perfect blend of rustic French charm and elegant orchard grounds.
The Perfect Venue for a Destination Wedding in France
Chateau Naudou offers a unique backdrop for a three day wedding celebration. From the rustic charm of the welcome party with a Provençal Rosé bar under the cedar trees to the elegant ceremony in the shade, every moment felt quintessentially European.
The Welcome Party: Pizza and Aperol Under the Cedars
The festivities kicked off with a relaxed welcome party. Guests gathered amongst the towering cedar trees for an evening of wood-fired pizzas, a dedicated Provençal rosé bar and a cute vintage mobile bar from an old Peugeot bike! As the sun began to dip, the golden hour light filtered through the branches, creating a warm, informal atmosphere that set the tone for the days to follow.
An Outdoor Ceremony in the Shade of the Trees
If you get married in France or Italy in August, you need to be prepared for hot weather. This particular weekend, we had a full on 39 degree heatwave! To keep guests comfortable, the ceremony was held directly in front of the chateau, tucked away in the cool shade of the ancient cedar trees.
For this mid-summer wedding, the heat was a significant factor. As experienced destination wedding photographers, we loved how the couple utilised the natural shade of the cedar trees for their ceremony, it made for beautiful dappled light. It provided a cool, intimate atmosphere right in front of the chateau.
Following the “I dos” and a celebratory drinks reception, the party moved into a stylish stretch tent nestled within the orchard. This setup allowed the beauty of the French landscape to remain the focal point while providing a chic, shaded space for the wedding breakfast. A perfect choice for couples wanting an outdoor feel with the comfort of a covered space out from that heatwave.
Dancing Under the Stars
As the evening cooled, the celebration transitioned into a truly romantic finale. After guests had chilled around the pool to escape the heat, everyone gathered for a first dance held outdoors and dancing under a canopy of stars. It was one of those rare, perfect nights where the energy of the party matched the beauty of the setting. With our bride being from the Cayman Islands, the party was a big one into the early hours, and we loved dancing away to the calypso, soca and dancehall sounds! We decided we had to reflect this in the couple’s wedding film which you can see below.
