A few years back, we all saw the emergence of the ‘T-Rex’ wedding photobomb. We’re not even sure we can tell you the originator, but we *think* it was an American photographer called J. Quinn Miller in 2013 with this shot. All good fun and it was great. Then we have all the other versions, you just need to search for it and you’ll get lots, some more successful that others.
Last year a wedding photographer found himself with Jeff Goldblum as a guest, so he naturally recreated the T-Rex wedding photobomb, and this upstages the original a little.
As it has been done to death, we would not recreate the T-Rex photo. Just like we don’t do selective colouring or faffing about with filters, we want your wedding photography to be fun and vibrant, be your wedding photos not just a copy of someone else’s…however…when the lovely Laura and Matthew told us about their love for their adorable cat Sam, naturally we were all ears, being cat lovers ourselves. They were a little sad Sam wouldn’t be there with them to enjoy their wedding day at South Farm, so we decided to include Sam in some of their pre wedding shoot. And then the T-Rex photo came into the conversation. Wouldn’t it be a fun way to include Sam?
How could we have refused this idea?!
Can’t resist the little snarly grin in that last photo!! We had started by taking some photos of Sam that would give us the right poses, so we would have a selection to choose from. This is where Dreamies came in handy! Reaching for those yummy cat snacks gave us a range of snarls and stretches we could potentially use on the wedding day. He also got a lovely cuddle from Laura and Matthew after his photo shoot, taking it all in his stride.
On the wedding day itself, Sam looked on as the girls prepared (so cute!), and enjoyed some cuddles with Laura, whilst Matthew remembered his kitty with some adorable cufflinks!
After a beautiful ceremony in Hertford, we all travelled to one of our favourite venues South Farm for their reception, and after getting the usual group shots out of the way, it was time for our wedding party to shine.
A couple of takes to make sure we had perfect terror faces, and their work was done. And it was hilarious! Then our work had only just begun…
Tom worked his photoshop magic and here we are!
and we couldn’t resist going a little further with the next two…
This was so much fun to do, and we love that we were be able to bring a bit of Sam’s magic to their fantastic wedding day!
