Emma & Sean are fans of Star Wars, but rather than go all out in a themed wedding, they planned a subtle nod to their love of the movies combined with a classic summer wedding feel. A gorgeous pink and green scheme, with themed place names and favours, not to mention a gorgeous cake tumbling with Star Wars icons. However, as Emma, radiant in Maggie Sottero, and Sean, looking dashing in Stormtrooper monochrome were about to exit their ceremony, a couple of uninvited guests turned up to escort them, courtesy of the brilliant Star Wars costuming group UK Garrison who were on the premier red carpet last night. As they were then escorted out, and drinks were enjoyed outside Hitchin Priory, another surprise hairy guest came out of the marquee! This was such a fun wedding, added to by the mind-blowing skills of elite magician Lee ‘Jedi’ Smith, some bubbles and hulahooping, and choice props in the evening on the dancefloor, following Emma & Sean’s fantastic choreographed first dance! To end the night though, we saw the ultimate in lightsaber battle between man and wife! May the force be with Emma & Sean for a super married life together! Credits at the end…
When Sophia and Jim suggested Hitchin Lavender Farm for their pre wedding shoot we were so pleased, as August is the perfect time of year to visit this gorgeous part of the Hitchin countryside. We had shot there very briefly before and when the lavender wasn’t in full bloom, but this time the lavender was at it’s purple best alongside some stunning sunflowers, and to top it off we had a gorgeous evening. For pre-shoots in locations such as this we like to shoot later in the day, and Sophia had arranged for us to shoot at closing time* so we would have the fields to ourselves.
The quiet of the countryside, coupled with the sunshine and the gentle hum of happy little bees was bliss, and we think Sophia and Jim enjoyed it too!
* Note: there is a £50 fee to photograph at Hitchin Lavender, see their website for details.
Hitchin Lavender Pre Wedding Shoot by Hertfordshire Wedding Photographers Lina and Tom
When Kate and Tom suggested Hitchin Lavender for their pre wedding shoot we were delighted to finally get a chance to shoot at this wonderful lavender farm, the lavender wasn’t quite in full bloom but the poppies and wild flowers certainly were!
here is a taste of a gorgeous afternoon we spent having fun amongst the flowers.
