First Look: February Fun! Wedding and Family Photography

After a busy January of appearing at the Knebworth Wedding Show, with a lovely image of Lina chatting away on their blog, followed by lots of new consultations and wedding bookings, it was lovely to get stuck in to shooting again in February.  We were also freshly inspired by getting creative on our styled shoot in southern Iceland which we look forward to telling you about more soon!

First look: October weddings and sneak peeks

Autumn is one of our favourite times of year and we love an October wedding. There’s something so special about crunchy leaves, golden light and those crisp, cold days. This October we’ve captured the season’s beauty with our couples, at both engagement and wedding shoots. We even snuck in product photography and a cute baby shoot too. Here’s a first look what we did in October…

Polly & Adam’s Summer Tipi Wedding in Cambridgeshire

There is a certain quaint quality to a tipi on a green, and on Polly and Adam’s relaxed and happy wedding day the tipi looked fantastic in the sunshine on the grass by Horningsea Pavillion in Cambridgeshire. We loved the details at this wedding which complimented the tipi – and wish we had thought of the fantastic teatowel wedding invite! Our favourite caterers Puddini provided a deliciously tasty meal of gourmet burgers and cheesecake which was perfect alongside a beer, and as the night cooled the fires were lit the marshmallows came out. Look no further for if you want inspiration for a English country fete tipi wedding and swoon at the romance of it all… Credits at the end…

Sarah & Matt’s Cambridgeshire Village Wedding

Sarah grew up in the pretty village of Bartlow in Cambridgeshire where her parents still live, so it was wonderful for her and Matt to have their celebration in a huge marquee in the garden. We love this shot as they took some time out to stroll around the village with us…

Polly & Adam’s Sunny Tipi Wedding

We were excited about our first Tipi wedding with Polly and Adam. After a church ceremony, guests gathered at Horningsea Pavillion where the most beautiful tipi was set up, yet it really came alive at night, as this gorgeous end of the night shot shows 🙂

Leeming & Ian’s Fun Shepreth Wildlife Park Zoo Pre Wedding Shoot

When Leeming and Ian said to us that they wanted a ‘fun’ pre-wedding shoot ‘somewhere like a zoo’, how could we resist? A quick email to the lovely folk at Shepreth Wildlife Park, a super bijou and unassuming little park but with big cats to rival Longleat amongst other favourite animals, and this zoo pre wedding shoot was on. You’ll probably know that we are huge animal lovers, so we were very excited!

On the day we captured Leeming and Ian wandering through the animals and listening to keeper talks, and we hope this collection of images not only made them feel more comfortable about being photographed on their wedding day, but also gives them a lovely little story of a fun afternoon. Although we did have one little Otter that almost stole the show…

Steph & Calin’s Sunset Pre Wedding Shoot

Steph and Calin seem very comfortable with the outdoors. We decided on a woodland walk at sunset and they were visibly intrigued by the wildlife and trees around them, which we enjoyed capturing. The sun shone beautifully amongst the trees, and we finished with Tom, Steph and Calin making the leap over a ditch to finish in the glorious corn field* for a dreamy finish even the cows wanted to watch…

* An important point when shooting in fields, do not go ruining farmer’s crops! When we shoot in places like this we always stand our couples in tractor tracks so as not to disturb the crop – it’s important to be responsible and respectful of people’s land 🙂

Katherine & Adam’s Childerley Wedding Taster!

Yesterday we were back for the first time this year at the gorgeous Childerley with Katherine and Adam. It was hot but beautiful, and Katherine and Adam were practically horizontal all day! Throw in a great bunch of friends and family and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a wedding (that and a Chelsea Bun tower!)

Gemma & Steven’s Muddy Woodland Pre Wedding Shoot

The title of this post will seem a little misleading at first. We met Gemma and Steve for a catch up over a drink before their woodland pre wedding shoot, at the gorgeous Willow Tree gastropub in the village of Bourn. The gardens of the pub have a lovely swing and a certain charm, so before we left for Hardwick Wood we took the opportunity to take a few shots in the garden and get warmed up!

Harwick wood had just started to flower with bluebells, and we took a wander with our lovely couple. For the most part, Gemma was safe in her lovely sandles, especially when her lovely fiancé would carry her over nettles and puddles, until one particularly muddy patch, and her foot went straight into the sludge! She took it in her stride though and we had a good giggle before taking in the stunning sunset.

Gemma first encountered us years ago when she worked at a wedding venue we had shot at. When they started planning their wedding two years ago, she came to see us and booked us in. We are really looking forward to their special day finally arriving tomorrow!
