Join Carrie and Leo for a sunny stroll around Greenwich Market, a super fun engagement shoot in one of our favourite places!

If you’ve been reading our blog recently you’ll know that we’ve had engagement shoot fever – it’s something our couples are really getting into! In particular, destination engagement shoots are really popular – giving you a chance to explore a much-loved or brand new city before your wedding day.

Carrie and Leo's engagement shoot in London

Greenwich pre-wedding shoot with Carrie and Leo

In Carrie and Leo’s case, the couple divide their time between two cities – Carrie works in London and Leo in Amsterdam, so both cities are home to them. The wedding was going to be in Hong Kong so they wanted to let two of their favourite cities get in on the action, without missing out on having their big day back home.

First of all, London town! They wanted to include the iconic sights like the Houses of Parliament in their engagement shoot, as well as where the locals hang out. They often spend their weekends at the bustling Greenwich Market, so that was top of the list for their London shoot – luckily Lina used to live there too, so she knew all the best spots for photos!

Engagement shoots in London

We started the day at the market, our sunny, smiley couple arrived suitably dressed in yellow! We loved that they chose yellow to wear, they popped in all our photos. We wanted to capture the sense of home in Carrie and Leo’s pre-wedding shoot, so we just asked them to stroll around the market as they normally would. They browsed the stalls, tasted the food and chatted to the sellers. We loved the relaxed vibe, plus we were all able to taste some delicious food too.

Fun fair engagement shoot - Cutty Sark London

After the buzz of the market we headed out to some quieter spots for couple’s portraits – taking a stroll around the University of Greenwich followed by the Cutty Sark where we found a fabulous fun fair! As if we could resist some photos with Carrie and Leo on the carousel…

Then it was all change for some evening glamour. Our couple changed into glamorous black tie ready for some shots overlooking the City of London skyline. Continuing the relaxed vibe, we all hopped on The Tube to take us into the City – just as Carrie and Leo might do on any normal day. We love the story these pictures tell – we really felt like we were just having relaxed evening out with Carrie and Leo – and by this time we had become firm friends with this super pair.

We took in the sights at the Houses of Parliament then strolled down Westminster Bridge before heading over to Primrose Hill to take in that amazing skyline. By now, the light was fading and the twinkly lights of the city gave us a fantastic background to end the day. After a few more photos of our fabulous couple we headed back into town for drinks to round off our incredible day.

What we loved most about this shoot was rediscovering London through Carrie and Leo’s perspective – we saw a whole new side to this area of the capital – no shoot we do in London is ever the same. We loved capturing a city that was so close to their hearts, and we really hope they got a sense of home from the shoot.
