When Hannah and Kirk booked us for their wedding next year, they also wanted to do something a little different for their Save the Date cards. Hannah had seen some interesting shots on Pinterest and wondered if we could emulate the feel of them. You all know we love a creative challenge so we only too happy to oblige!
We put Hannah in touch with Cambridgeshire illustrator Laura Bird and together we all headed to their chosen wedding venue, the gorgeous Childerley Barn, who had kindly let us use a space on their grounds for the shoot. Unfortunately it was also raining, but thankfully the beautiful barn has a perfect floor for what we were planning! Hannah had also brought hot tea and made cupcakes – she knows how to keep her photographers happy!
Having previously made sketches Laura set about creating these adorable illustrations with chalk, whilst we set up lighting to best illuminate the image details and give our couple a lovely glow, basically by Tom hanging over a ladder! Below are the final two images which made it as Hannah and Kirk’s Save the Dates, and we were really happy with the result, such fun to do! Our lovely couple seemed happy too: “You have made our day, thank you so much for your work on these. They look bloody brilliant and we are so pleased (we love the lighting).”
