We’ve been lucky to shoot a vast number of weddings over our nine years as wedding photographers, and one of the biggest changes we’ve seen to the industry is a wealth of new and exciting places to have a wedding day. You may be eyeing up dancing the night away in that warehouse space, or maybe a beautifully vintage village hall wedding is your dream. One thing is for certain, if you are not getting married in a traditional venue, having some sort of connection with a wedding planner is pretty essential in our books, and many of you have heard us harp on about the importance of on-the-day wedding coordination at least. So who better to talk through when hiring a wedding planner might be for you than the brilliant Vanessa and Dom from R&F Weddings…
Ready for a whistle-stop tour of Ibiza? Hop on board for a peek at Sam and Nick’s destination wedding on the white island. Featuring the famous Café del Mar and a dreamy wedding ceremony overlooking Es Vedra, the island of love.
Today we’re throwing it back to 2016, to a fabulous autumn wedding in the Cotswolds, the marriage of Matt and Hayley. The wedding was a full weekend affair (we love wedding weekends, always such an incredible atmosphere) at the beautiful Cripps Barn in Bibury – a traditional stone barn in the Cotswolds.
Much like October, weddings in November are all about golden leaves and light – just a joy to shoot. November has been growing in popularity for weddings, so it keeps us busy right into the winter as well as fitting in our annual jaunt to London for the Nine Dots Gathering week – a non-conference for wedding photographers. We’ll talk more about it when we do our in-depth look at the month, but here’s a first look at our November wedding photography…
As we watch the leaves of our bright red plum tree trickle down to the floor from our office window (how poetic, I know!) we’re reflecting on a pretty awesome summer. Of course, when you do a job like ours, we’re generally describing the year as awesome, but this summer seems to have really swept us off our feet. After a fantastic spring which saw us return to some of our favourite venues such as South Farm and the Granary Estates, we also shot/saw two of our closest friends get married under the beautiful Scottish sunshine. This year we introduced wedding slideshows, so we’ve mixed in some images and slideshows here.
After months of tinkering and tweaking our new website is live!

Awesome news here – we have been awarded Best Wedding Photographer at the 2016 Four Counties Wedding Awards. Woop!
The Awards, which began in 2015, were started to “recognise and reward the hard work and dedication, the long hours and patience” of local wedding suppliers. “Those who go above and beyond to make every wedding day so very special. A real recognition of excellence in the wedding service sector.”
After a round of voting by wedding couples; a panel of industry judges, in our category lead by photographer Ian Bursill, decided that we were the best wedding photographers which were revealed at a Gala reception at Knebworth House and Barns on November 30th.
There are a various awards around now, but we thought it would be nice to enter these awards this year as they truly show couples in the region who are the suppliers in their area of quality. We were so happy that our names were read out as winners as we know there is a wealth of photography talent in the region – it’s so lovely to have this recognition and thank you so much to our lovely couples and the judges for their kind words, it really means a lot as we work extremely hard for our clients!
We were certainly on lucky table 9 as our friends and colleagues Lee Allison (Highly Commended Wedding Photographer), Tim Spatz (Best Videographer) and Kerry Curl – Cambridge Make Up Artist (Best Wedding Make-Up) were all also successful! The Gala evening also made a significant amount of money for the brilliant Charity The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation, an amazing cause.
We clicked with Laura and Lewis instantly when we met them, and after a fantastic Brighton pre wedding shoot with them we were so excited for their September wedding at the Tythe Barn at Tewin Bury Farm Hotel. Mother Nature played ball with a perfect sunny day to show off their gorgeously vibrant yellow and navy colour scheme, accented by beautiful sunflowers. Who doesn’t smile at a sunflower? Particularly lovely was fireman Lewis’ gift to Laura of seven heart-shaped padlocks to lock in each of the seven continents, starting on their South American honeymoon – swoon! This was a day full of fun and laughter, with an additional nod to travel during the day as this was how these two met. It was great to work with the brilliant Lovelight Entertainment again right through the night, until Laura and Lewis’ friends gathered around them to give them an arch send off. We have no doubt we’ll see plenty more of this super pair in the future! Credits for their fab suppliers at the end in Laura’s own words, enjoy!
