Throughout the summer our pre wedding shoots get later and later, in the hope of the sort of stunning evening light that Stef and Jack were blessed with when we headed to Stanborough Park. We had a lovely stroll around the lake and nature reserve, and love how much Jack makes Stef laugh. We’re looking forward to an equally chilled and sunny day with them at the beautiful South Farm.
Claire and Will’s Pre wedding shoot date fell in that gorgeous period in early June where we had stunning sunshine – remember then? I think it was called our summer… Anyway we were delighted to be heading to Frinton-on-Sea with them, which turns out to be a fantastic beach for shooting on! We’ve shot at Southwold and Wells-next-the-Sea which are also gorgeous, but Frinton-on-Sea is very flat hard sand – perfect for running and jumping around on!
Now this is essentially a masterclass of a pre wedding shoot so look and learn folks. We’re not saying Claire and Will are perfect posers (as you well know this wouldn’t be what floats our boat!) it was their approach to their shoot which made it perfect. They just messed about enjoying each other’s company as if we weren’t there and it was awesome. It was the best way for us to all get to know each other better, and we laughed LOTS. Turns out these two are professional-standard jumpers too! They take jumping shots wherever they travel, so not only do they have perfect timing but they have great height too! All in all this makes for a pretty epic shoot.
We’re also super excited about their wedding as it will be our first at Fanhams Hall since our own wedding in December 2014. We purposefully didn’t shoot there once we’d chosen it as our venue, and we met Claire and Will less than a month before we got married. So it’s so exciting to go back with them, we’re sure it’s going to be a fab day!
Mother Nature came through again on the afternoon of Anneka and Olie’s pre wedding shoot in Greenwich Park. It was a glorious day (remember those!) and we knew the sunset would be stunning, and we seemed to be in the perfect place to not only enjoy the fantastic views of the city, but also to catch the light through the most gorgeously-coloured tree. After an initial period of nervousness, these two realised we really were just going to ask them to walk in the park and enjoy each others company – we promised no cheesy posing and here you go, just a gorgeous afternoon capturing two people in love.
After their pre wedding shoot at Shepreth Wildlife Park, we knew Leeming and Ian’s wedding would also be fun, and we weren’t wrong! A special colourful wedding car, crazy golf, hungry hippos and a casino made sure no guest was short of anything to enjoy! Yet it was this quiet moment in the setting sun we loved as a taster of their Chippenham Park wedding, this fun but gentle couple quietly enjoying a break from the party….

Steph and Calin seem very comfortable with the outdoors. We decided on a woodland walk at sunset and they were visibly intrigued by the wildlife and trees around them, which we enjoyed capturing. The sun shone beautifully amongst the trees, and we finished with Tom, Steph and Calin making the leap over a ditch to finish in the glorious corn field* for a dreamy finish even the cows wanted to watch…
* An important point when shooting in fields, do not go ruining farmer’s crops! When we shoot in places like this we always stand our couples in tractor tracks so as not to disturb the crop – it’s important to be responsible and respectful of people’s land 🙂
A popular Essex wedding venue, we finally got the opportunity to shoot a Gaynes Park wedding with the lovely Sam and Martin. These two were super relaxed and it really echoed throughout the whole day. We seem to be on a roll this summer for sunsets, and this wedding was no exception…
