Long days, short nights and endless sunshine – that’s what a summer wedding is made of right? Well maybe not endless sunshine… but August was the third and last month of our summer bonanza, and boy were there some treats in store! Grab some summer wedding planning inspiration right here…
Somerleyton Hall may have just become our new favourite venue. This gorgeous family estate just outside of Lowerstoft, also happens to be about twenty minutes drive from Lina’s parents relatively new and happy retired life. This wasn’t even an idea when Sarah and JoJo booked us, so funny how things work out! This is a gorgeous venue and we would absolutely love to do more Somerleyton Hall wedding photography after an awesome day with Sarah and JoJo, although that could also have something to do with the fact that Texans are our new favourite type of wedding guest! That and the full English in the morning, thanks mum…

We were lucky enough to explore the impressive gardens of Chippenham Park with Jennie and Conor with no one else around, on a beautiful sunny evening.
The gardens revealed more than any of us had expected, a real wonderland of nooks and hideaways – even Jennie and Conor hadnt realised this when booking Chippenham Park for their wedding reception. It was the perfect place for a romantic pre wedding shoot, allowing us to leave the couple to roam the gardens and photograph them naturally. We’re unlikely to have the time at their wedding tomorrow to go as far, so it was lovely to properly explore here!
Those of you who have given us the pleasure of shooting your weddings will remember back to when we first met you, and we always love to hear your proposal story. We learn so much about you just hearing about it, observing your body language to each other, and usually gauge that we are dealing with two people very much in love. This didn’t happen when we met Ellie, as she came with her dad to see us as James was away working. Strangely for us, this was also the first time we met Ellie, as she had met the lovely Aimee & Sam who had covered the Hotel du Vin wedding fair for us whilst we were exhibiting at the two-day Knebworth Wedding Show. We also know Aimee & Sam make a great impression on people and Ellie was no exception, so it was fantastic she was willing to come and see us about her October wedding to James.
We finally got to meet James when we got together for their pre-wedding shoot in a gorgeously sunny Southwold during August’s heatwave, and over a scrumptious slab of cake thanks to the fabulous Two Magpies Bakery, and yes slab is the right word (!) Tom and I then got to experience that excitement hearing about them getting together and then the proposal, which happened just up the beach in front of the famous Southwold beach huts.
