Autumn is one of our favourite times of year and we love an October wedding. There’s something so special about crunchy leaves, golden light and those crisp, cold days. This October we’ve captured the season’s beauty with our couples, at both engagement and wedding shoots. We even snuck in product photography and a cute baby shoot too. Here’s a first look what we did in October…
A pre wedding shoot up on Therfield Heath in Hertfordshire is glorious, but so dependent on the weather. Thankfully Mother Nature was on our side for Sarah and Anthony’s pre wedding shoot and boy did she come through. The sun shone beautifully through the trees as we walked with Sarah and Anthony to relax a few nerves, but then it was time for fun in the sunshine. We had to remind ourselves this was work!
We love the sea, and we love Southwold, so we were happy to return with Rebecca and Bobby on a glorious afternoon in August. It never feels right to us to just feature the sea as a background, so we will always encourage our clients to get a little wet when we head to the beach on a pre wedding shoot!
Thankfully, despite it not being too warm, Rebecca and Bobby went for it – as did Tom! – making for a particularly fun sequence of laughter and sea spray!
Shooting for Matt at Hayley this month is going to be a real privilege not to mention a lot of fun. Hayley and I (Lina) have history, a fair few years back we worked together, right when we were on the cusp of our respective personal businesses kicking off full time, Hayley being co-owner of the highly regarded and award-winning beauty salon, English Rose Beauty House. So we’re so happy to be part of what we know is going to be a fab day, and we took an opportunity to catch up with Matt and Hayley as they walked their gorgeously characterful Dachshund Stanley. As is common when we have a cute doggy on a shoot, we make no apologies for how many shots of him there are!
We’ve shot some fun punting pre wedding shoots in the past, but Ruth and Danny’s had a twist, this time our very own Tom was the initial chauffeur. We tried something different, he punted so that we could give Ruth and Danny a go at ‘driving’, and what a hilarious decision that was! As well as the happy couple cuddling up in the punt, we saw them both try their hand at punting for the first time, with varying results, as we think the punt Danny hit would agree! No one ended up with damp feet though, so we were able to have a short stroll around Senate Passage, a beautiful part of the city, where they continued to make each other giggle, lovely stuff.
Throughout the summer our pre wedding shoots get later and later, in the hope of the sort of stunning evening light that Stef and Jack were blessed with when we headed to Stanborough Park. We had a lovely stroll around the lake and nature reserve, and love how much Jack makes Stef laugh. We’re looking forward to an equally chilled and sunny day with them at the beautiful South Farm.
This Cambridgeshire pre wedding shoot with Stacey and Gaz gives all the feels – a gorgeous winter sunset and two of the most gorgeous doggies you have seen. A stroll around the nature reserve in Fen Drayton provided a gorgeous backdrop, and we are so happy to finally shoot what we are sure will be a fab wedding day for Stacey and Gaz tomorrow!
We had an amazing opportunity to provide San Francisco pre wedding photography for Pippa and Marty, thanks to perfect timing of our trip to the US last October! They live near the cosmopolitan city but are having a wedding celebration at Tewin Bury Farm this month. Starting the shoot at a fantastic spot showcasing the city skyline, before heading across the water to beautiful Sausalito, we then made our way back to visit an amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Mother nature even provided us with the fog the city is so famous for!
If you have a favourite place or somewhere that is special to you, we’ll happily travel to give you amazing destination pre wedding photography. A pre wedding shoot can be so much more relaxed that the day itself, and allow us lots of time to experiment and have some fun. You could even have a post wedding shoot somewhere special to you – we headed back to Iceland after our wedding!
We highly recommend San Francisco as a place to visit, such a vibrant city that’s super to spend time in. We know the Californian road trip is a honeymoon favourite!
Rose and Adam wanted a relaxed walk in the park pre wedding shoot, and Wandlebury Park on the outskirts of Cambridge is perfect for this type of shoot, but also as it means we can meet at the Gog Magog Cafe which has awesome sausage rolls and cake, win!
It was a gloomy day so the woodland had a moody atmosphere, but then we found light between the trees and beyond as these two enjoyed a stroll in each others company, finishing out in the open. Both are blessed with beaming styles – they beamed at us lots, which was lovely!
We’re very much looking forward to what we’re sure will be a relaxed but fun wedding with them at the gorgeous Granary Barns, and here’s their shoot in the meantime to enjoy!
We joke that if a couple bring a dog to their pre wedding shoot they get a free pet shoot, and certainly Ciara and Lee’s was no exception once we met Juno the Chug! (A pug / chihuahu cross if you are not au fait with your new breeds.) She is the most adorable little pup and that right amount of nuts to have you howling with laughter. We make no apologies for the end of this shoot being all about Juno!
Ciara and Lee are blessed with some beautiful countryside right from their back garden, so we had a perfect setting in the early evening sunshine to take Juno for a walk, and you’ll see for yourself it’s just glorious. They spent most of their time laughing which is always lovely to see, but particularly as whenever they kissed Lee’s glasses would slip off – so cute, like something out of a Carry On film!
We met Ciara and Lee after Lee heard us on BBC 6 Music and looked us up. They’re a super couple and we are so looking forward to their wedding which brings us to a new venue, the gorgeous looking Tythe Barn near Bicester. Enjoy!
