We’ve had the pleasure of meeting Christine and Lee a number of times over the last few years at weddings we’ve shot, so we were thrilled when they chose us for their own wedding photography, knowing they were a pair of awesome humans. This was further proven when they asked us to do an alternative engagement shoot they could use for their Save the Date’s – at Santa Pod Raceway!
Claire and Will’s Pre wedding shoot date fell in that gorgeous period in early June where we had stunning sunshine – remember then? I think it was called our summer… Anyway we were delighted to be heading to Frinton-on-Sea with them, which turns out to be a fantastic beach for shooting on! We’ve shot at Southwold and Wells-next-the-Sea which are also gorgeous, but Frinton-on-Sea is very flat hard sand – perfect for running and jumping around on!
Now this is essentially a masterclass of a pre wedding shoot so look and learn folks. We’re not saying Claire and Will are perfect posers (as you well know this wouldn’t be what floats our boat!) it was their approach to their shoot which made it perfect. They just messed about enjoying each other’s company as if we weren’t there and it was awesome. It was the best way for us to all get to know each other better, and we laughed LOTS. Turns out these two are professional-standard jumpers too! They take jumping shots wherever they travel, so not only do they have perfect timing but they have great height too! All in all this makes for a pretty epic shoot.
We’re also super excited about their wedding as it will be our first at Fanhams Hall since our own wedding in December 2014. We purposefully didn’t shoot there once we’d chosen it as our venue, and we met Claire and Will less than a month before we got married. So it’s so exciting to go back with them, we’re sure it’s going to be a fab day!
We had so much fun in the Brighton sun with Laura and Lewis!
Here is a little sneak peek of a fun day beside the seaside!
We were delighted to get an email from Bryony and Sidney regarding their June wedding. Not only because they were having their wedding at Sopwell House in St. Albans which we had not yet photographed, but also because Bryony’s lovely brother and MC Jeremy is a friend of Tom’s sister, and as well as seeing him socially we have provided executive photography for him too, so it was great to meet Bryony!
For their St Albans pre wedding shoot we headed to the lovely Verulamium Park which is perfect for a romantic stroll around the lake to alleviate any nerves about being photographed on the day, which was the case for Bryony, but as you’ll see below, our lovely couple had nothing to worry about! We’re really looking forward to the wedding tomorrow!
Last week we spent an an amazing five days in glorious southern Iceland celebrating Tom’s birthday. I’d surprised him with a trip staying at the fabulous Hotel Ranga, and filled the week with exciting private tours, so we would have a great week together, and not be too disappointed if the famous Northern Lights – the Aurora Borealis – didn’t show.
Well we were very excited when the hotel told us they were showing after dinner on Tuesday night, and got all our cold weather gear on to go out and enjoy the light show amongst a sky of glorious green and shooting stars, the cherry on top for my plans. But then Tom turned the tables on me and proposed!
So we’re very happy to announce that after almost seven years together, the last five working together as Cambridgeshire wedding photographers, we are now engaged! So it is time for us to plan our own wedding!
As you all know I love all things wedding and we are always delighted to be a help to our wedding photography clients in any part of their planning, so it will be interesting doing it for ourselves. People assume we have it all figured out already; on the contrary, we’ve seen so many fabulous weddings our heads are like Pinterest! We’re currently working out what we want and we have organised some initial venue viewings. Already looking at some websites I have seen the potential frustrations to a bride-to-be so I will be blogging my planning journey which will hopefully help other couples.
Wish us luck! 🙂
For the Knebworth Wedding Show 2013 we were asked by Wedding Link Herts and Cambs to present a seminar to prospective brides and grooms. Those of you who know our work will know we are all about making sure the fun you have at your wedding and we capture it – the day goes too quick for you to be standing around in endless photos.
