In a jam-packed November we photographed three fabulous autumnal weddings went to a wedding photography conference and picked up an award for our work too. Not bad, eh?
We’ve shot some fun punting pre wedding shoots in the past, but Ruth and Danny’s had a twist, this time our very own Tom was the initial chauffeur. We tried something different, he punted so that we could give Ruth and Danny a go at ‘driving’, and what a hilarious decision that was! As well as the happy couple cuddling up in the punt, we saw them both try their hand at punting for the first time, with varying results, as we think the punt Danny hit would agree! No one ended up with damp feet though, so we were able to have a short stroll around Senate Passage, a beautiful part of the city, where they continued to make each other giggle, lovely stuff.
Ahead of Becky and Charlie’s wedding this weekend, we are revisiting their gorgeously autumnal pre-wedding shoot around Wandlebury in Cambridge. The colours in this shoot are just glorious, added to by Becy’s excellent choice of scarf, and it was a lovely day for a walk through the fallen leaves. October/November is such a great month for pre wedding shoots, the trees are glorious and life seems a little less hectic for all of us. We love the relaxed nature of this shoot, and we look forward to more great big smiles from these two at their Cambridge college wedding.
The title of this post will seem a little misleading at first. We met Gemma and Steve for a catch up over a drink before their woodland pre wedding shoot, at the gorgeous Willow Tree gastropub in the village of Bourn. The gardens of the pub have a lovely swing and a certain charm, so before we left for Hardwick Wood we took the opportunity to take a few shots in the garden and get warmed up!
Harwick wood had just started to flower with bluebells, and we took a wander with our lovely couple. For the most part, Gemma was safe in her lovely sandles, especially when her lovely fiancé would carry her over nettles and puddles, until one particularly muddy patch, and her foot went straight into the sludge! She took it in her stride though and we had a good giggle before taking in the stunning sunset.
Gemma first encountered us years ago when she worked at a wedding venue we had shot at. When they started planning their wedding two years ago, she came to see us and booked us in. We are really looking forward to their special day finally arriving tomorrow!
Cambridgeshire Pre Wedding Photos – A Woodland Engagement Shoot by Lina and Tom
Mother nature was technically not kind during Kim and Steve’s rainy Cambridge pre wedding shoot, however as we always say, rain does not mean a ruined shoot! We had lots of laughs with them in the drizzle, and to us arty folk, a wet pavement at dusk is a thing of beauty – see for yourself…
Cambridge pre wedding shoot by Cambridgeshire wedding photographers Lina and Tom
Lisa and Christopher basically described their wedding reception as a big old party on Christopher’s family farm in Ely, so we’ve been really excited about their wedding which we will cover from morning until night. An Ely pre wedding shoot on the farm seemed a natural choice, and we headed over to take some shots of our couple, accompanied by one of the prettiest dogs we have met in a long time, Maple! Here’s a look back at the shoot as we prepare for what we are sure will be a super day tomorrow!
We’ve really enjoyed getting to know Diane and Gareth over the last year and our excitement is at boiling point for their wedding at Cambridge Belfry tomorrow! We’re with them for the whole day to the last dance, and we’re sure it’s going to be a fun day. As we finalise our preparations for their Cambridgeshire wedding, with high hopes for the sunshine, here is a look back at their gorgeous winter pre wedding shoot back in January, in the grounds of the Cambridge Belfry and in nearby Hardwick Wood.
We are thrilled that Sarah & Will’s gorgeous vintage winter wedding, that we photographed at Madingley Hall, is featured in the Wedding Ideas Real Weddings supplement accompanying the April issue of the magazine out today!
Thanks to Wedding Ideas for not only featuring it but also for sending us these handy pdfs so we can show you the feature!
We’re happy to be celebrating this month – we’re five years old! We can’t believe how time has flown since we decided to specialise in providing fun wedding photography in Cambridgeshire and throughout East Anglia – and beyond!
Here’s a look back the first five couples who gave us the opportunity to shoot their wedding under our former name of Liquid Photo and help us build the successful business we have now and love!
Frances and Andrew
It was Fran & Andy’s engagement which started it all, good long-term friends of Tom’s who knew his talent and asked if he would be their wedding photographer at the gorgeous Priory Hall in Suffolk. We knew it was where we wanted to go so it was a great opportunity – we didn’t let them down and the rest, as they say, is history!
Rachel and Toby
As if to test if we really meant it, Lina’s best friend from childhood, Rachel, also announced her engagement and asked if we would be their wedding photographer at the Bedford Swan Hotel. A huge privilege, which really cemented our desire to concentrate on weddings and build a successful business as wedding photographers. It was also the début of our photo booth studio for the first time – still going strong and much replicated almost five years later!
Virginie and Adriano
Virginie and Adriano found our small but perfectly formed portfolio online, and could see the spark of talent in our work despite our still relative inexperience. They had a wonderfully relaxed wedding at Cambridge Registry Office Shire Hall followed by everyone heading to the Fort St. George pub on Midsummer Common. Such a lovely couple, and we thank them for the occasional updates we get of their little family.
Louisa and Jamie
A former work colleague of Lina’s, Louisa and Jamie wanted relaxed reportage photography and had seen our work evolve. They had a wonderful barn wedding with gorgeous flowers and fresh hops, as well as our fun photo booth studio in the evening as part of their Tewin Bury Farm wedding photography. We love this shot as it is a testament to how great a couple can look when feeling relaxed with their photographer, and it regularly jumps out of our portfolio with prospective clients. We’re very happy to be able to now call them friends.
Jennie and Aaron
Jennie and Aaron were our next couple to find us purely via Google and we are so glad they did. They’re based in Ireland but married in Ely, with a wedding reception at the lovely Old Bridge Hotel in Huntingdon. We had such a lovely relaxed day with them and were thrilled when they loved the photos. Again it is great to hear from them now an then or via social networks that they are well!
Without these couples taking a leap of faith in (at the time) Tom’s talent and Lina’s marketing and business skills, we wouldn’t be where we are today, very happy as successful wedding photographers grateful to be doing a job we love. It is a huge honour to share this special day with a couple, and having shot well over 100 weddings now, I don’t think we will ever get tired of what we do, so thank you to everyone who has played their part in getting us here!
Wedding Photography in Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and all over the South East and beyond by Cambridgeshire wedding photographers Lina and Tom
After a few days of grey drizzle we were really happy when the sun shone for Clare and Mark’s Ely pre wedding shoot which they chose to have along the river. After a catch up on their wedding plans over a drink in The Cutter Inn, we let them stroll along the river together. We say to all our couples, to enjoy the period of time when all they have to do is talk, walk and kiss! For most couples (including us!) it’s very rare to get a chance to do this, and most find it very enjoyable, with Clare and Mark being no exception. When we first met Mark, having previously met Clare in a professional capacity, he seemed the ‘quieter’ of the two, yet during the pre wedding shoot he relished the opportunity to have a good snog with his bride to be, almost making Clare bashful! A clear observation we made that afternoon was how much these two laugh together, they are constantly making each other giggle and it was so lovely to be around.
We’re really excited about photographing their wedding on Friday in the art deco splendour of Eltham Palace in South London, it what we are sure will be a stylish and fun wedding completely tailored to them.
